Our vision is to be a versatile, strong and cosmopolitan centre for education and intercultural encounters that promotes people with and without (hearing) disabilities equally and supports them in their diversity. equalizent sees itself as a company that builds a bridge between different worlds with empathy and expertise - for a respectful coexistence that recognises, promotes, challenges and further strengthens the diversity of our society.
As a multi-certified and award-winning training institute, equalizent gives people regardless of gender, origin, age, religion/belief, sexual orientation, disability or ability the tools they need in training and further education to realise their potential and actively participate in the world of work and, as a result, in society.
Another key objective is to make deaf people more visible on the labour market and to give them equal opportunities for a fulfilling professional life and lifelong learning. We are committed to ensuring that they can work in professional fields that match their interests and abilities in the future.
Our competence centre is intended to serve as a model worthy of emulation for the business world by promoting the lived and functioning practice of inclusion in the workplace. Companies can draw on our experience and expertise to create jobs for deaf people and enable them to work together as equals. We also raise awareness of the barrier-free and non-violent structures that are needed in a diverse society. Our aim is to encourage people to actively promote and advance the inclusion of deaf people.
equalizent Schulungs- u. Beratungs GmbH has many years of experience in the areas of sign language, diversity management and the inclusion of deaf and hard of hearing people in the labour market. We offer practical training, targeted courses and individual counselling. At the same time, we are constantly developing innovative products and services that set new standards. Our aim is to promote equal opportunities and strengthen the social participation of all people.
We consider language and educational backgrounds to be key prerequisites for equal opportunities in learning and working. Diversity is not just a concept for us, but characterises our daily actions. It strengthens the performance and commitment of our employees and participants. This diversity is not only reflected in our training programmes and the people we reach, but also in the way we work and communicate with each other.
As a bilingual organisation (German written language and Austrian sign language), we are expressly committed to the recognition of sign language. It is used as the first language in all our training courses for deaf people. We also offer sign language courses for hearing people who want to learn this language. Our team communication, which includes deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people, is in sign language. In this way, we create an inclusive working environment that promotes cultural exchange and mutual appreciation.
We support companies, institutions and individuals in consciously embracing diversity and breaking down barriers. With our expertise in inclusion, diversity and barrier-free communication, we support change processes through training, workshops and individual consulting. Together, we develop sustainable solutions for greater participation and equal opportunities.
Our interactive permanent exhibition ‘Hands Up’ on the subject of deafness and sign language builds a bridge between the hearing and deaf worlds. It invites visitors to join in, understand and change their perspective. Our annual summer festival promotes open dialogue and brings diversity and acceptance to life in a lively way.
We stand for a world in which diversity is not only accepted, but consciously lived - a society in which every person is given the opportunity to develop and participate. With our work, we provide impetus for a fairer future in which inclusion and equal opportunities are not just buzzwords, but a living reality.
