Digital Framework for Sign Languages

EU Digital Framework for Sign Languages is about developing a database to provide sign language resources in the field of ICT (information and communications technology) in International Sign. The framework includes an e-glossary containing at least 500 signs in the following areas:

  • Computer science
  • Cloud networking
  • Internet of Things
  • Artificial Intelligence and robotics
  • Audiovisual and media production

Each entry includes a short video showing with the sign, plus additional information such as background, grammar or how to use signs in context.

Guidelines for the inclusion of D/deaf workers in digital and ICT settings will also be developed as part of the project.

D/deaf jobseekers are the primary target group, but VET trainers, employers and entrepreneurs in the field, sign language interpreters and schools, as well as associations for the inclusion of people with hearing disabilities will also benefit from the project results.
